The movie is called “”Air Cocaine” and revolves around a real cocaine bust in Punta Cana back in 2013. Two French pilots in a private jet carrying 26 suitcases raised suspicions with Customs agents at the Punta Cana airport.

The question was simple: Who needs 26 suitcases for a 48-hour stay at Punta Cana? And so began one of the strangest and now cinematic drug cases on file.

The boarded suitcases held 700kg of cocaine, bound for Saint Tropez on board the luxury jet piloted by two veteran French pilots: Pascal Fauret and Bruno Odos.

In the Netflix documental called “Air Cocaine” the series details the events with solid research, black humor, and the film clearly establishes that some doubts were left unresolved.

In June of 2013, when the case broke in the local news, it seemed unreal. Four persons, two pilots arrested on the tarmac before takeoff, and a huge amount of...

More proof that art imitates life and it’s a lot more interesting than real life. Even though drug smuggling has increased significantly in the DR, judging by the increased number of large scale busts, it takes a docudrama to make it interesting for Dominicans. Wonder if the same could be done for littering?

Is a documentay considered art? This story was not fiction but rather a portrayal that took a lot of time to put together based upon the best possible information the makers of it could discover.

Nobody makes vast amounts of money littering like they do from bottom to top regarding drugs, and I have no idea if this documentary is interesting for Dominicans. It was a bit tedious even for me to watch. I cannot imagine any of my family members (all the Dominican ones) would watch it.

Anything that generates interest at the government level, especially problems in the justice system, is a good thing, even if it is boring.

Documentary dramas are an art form in the sense that they are produced and directed for entertainment reasons and, despite the facts, are open to individual interpretation as most forms of art are.

My comment about generating interest in the littering problem was tongue in cheek. Imagine if the DR soap operas were used as a means to make educate the public about the negative aspects of littering Windy. Who knows what effect that might have? It’s a slow day here. Just spitballing Windy.😂

Great story but poorly executed doc. It was too much fluff and jokes for me.
