I changed $300 US today at Vimenca in SD, only got 42.85.
Always seems to be less here in SD.

no, nothing better/good, the way the Pesos value degreases, the same proportion all items rise their prices to be paid in pesos.
and at the same time the purchasing power of people who earn salaries in pesos goes downhill, and very fast and steep.

i have 2 Vimenca offices near my usual route here on the east, once in a while i use one of them, in Veron, when i need to exchange small amounts of a few hundred dollars quickly, as my fav exchange booth is up in Bavaro and closing early. both Vimenca offices here on the East do have bad exchange rates, i use Vimenca just if there's no other way available.
will see where it stands tomorrow, have to change again. it's monday, i hope the fuel price doesn't show an other big rise again.

It went down to 42.90 in Jarabacoa at La Fria casa de cambio this morning to buy pesos... It was up to 43.05 previously.

before yesterday/wednesday early morningi received just 43.10.- at the Banca en Plaza de Brizas.
maybe it dropped even more yesterday, but did not check yesterday.

Gas Stations and Colmados and such are of course always on the worst exchange rates, the same for supermarkets.
but needed when a small amount has to be changed, as thats not worth to spend time and fuel on a ride to a better place, or in the evenings, when no other exchange places are open

looks like they really press it downwards(or better say artificially lift the pesos value up) now.

BobK, good to hear that there are some who give fair rates. here in the punta cana area and in higuey the Gas Stations and Supermarkets are always more than a full Peso below the exchange rate of the banks and exchange booths.

did a exchange quicky early afternooon today, as i was nearby i used the BHD bank at Plaza San Juan inPC, as BHD gives more for the buck than the neighboured Banco Popular.

so i guess it already picked up a bit again, as my usual exchange booth at Plaza de Brizas is always above the BHD rate by 0.10-0.20.-
on monday i have to change a larger amount, will do so at my Banca at Plaza de Brizas, i await it to be back on 43.00.- at least after the weekend.
