out of curiosity i checked polish ministry of foreign affairs page.
here's what they say about travel in DR:

no terrorist connections

Reminds me of something a Dominican pol said to me a year or so after 9-11.
"Well at least we don't have to worry about terrorists. They would not be interested in a country that plays Bachata, laughs, sings and drinks beer every day would they?"

Yes, it is unfortunately very true what mrgood100 said. Things get worse, a lot worse. So, why should you want to live in a paradise-like country (naturewise), if you are forced to stay at home most of the time? Until today, nobody could give me a good reason. Maybe, it's better to stay in rural US instead??

I have lived here for 5 years and never had a problem, but if one of those bastards tries a trick on me by bumping me from behind I will have my .38 special ready and blow a piece of lead in their head.
