Three buddies and myself are going to Boca Chica beach in late February. Deciding where to stay. Definitely looking for "chica friendly" hotels. El-Candil looks like a great place, clean, secure, 2 bedroom apts, chica friendly etc., but it is at the far end of the beach and a couple of blocks off the beach. I can not tell from the map if the walk to the center of the beach is a far walk or not. Can anyone tell me how long a walk it is. Also, are there any hotels right in the middle of the main street that are chica friendly, secure(safe in room), clean, options for 2 bedroom apartment.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My advice, change your travel plans, especially if your looking to party and chase girls.
Boca Chica has changed a lot over the past few years.

Head towards Sosua, it's like the Boca Chica of 10 years ago.

Disagree

I am not so sure I agree with your vacation analogy!! It all depends on your GAME and connections. If you know how to hunt correctly you will have no problem on the south coast. On the North coast it rains to much and the capital, is to far away. NYC gang, south coast is your home away from home.

Unfortunately 90% of the guys that come here have no game, they are more "point n click". They are first timers, so they don't have any connections, hence, go to Sosua.

By comparison with Sosua, the main street and discos in BC will certainly seem pretty dead at night. If you do go, both Candil and Costalunga (about 100 feet away from each other) are nice hotels. They are just a couple blocks up a hill from Duarte and the playa.
If you spend a bit of effort in looking, there are a couple million people living in close proximity and a corresponding fraction of cute young chicas lurking about (at least 10's of thousands of 8's and 9's). They are not on Duarte at night but many are on the playa on Sundays. They all have cell phones and they are not terribly shy about giving up their numbers - (incoming calls don't require minutes for most DR cell phones). Very few speak any english though. I can testify that if your spanish skills are poor in person they're even worse over the phone.

Thanks guys. This is our first time to DR. We all have game but no connections. We went to Costa Rica for the first time last February. Hotel Delray for 2 days, then fishing and the Beatle bar on the west coast for 3 days. All the girls were right there for the picking. Is Dr the same?? And if Sousa is the place, any suggestions on a hotel right in the middle of the action?

Thanks again.

Thanks Tamorista

This info is excellant. Also looking to golf. We were originally looking to go to Casa de Campos and play "Teeth of the Dog" one day but now it might be too far. Any suggestions on courses around Sousa?

Bronxboy...no surfing but we boogie borded in Jaco. Nice 6 foot waves. I have lived in Florida for the last 20 years so I have not seen waves since my Long Island days growing up around Jones Beach.

Sosua is not Hotel Delray but the closest thing to it you will find in the DR. There really isn't a hotel in Sosua right in the "belly of the beast" but several close by.

Enjoy.................

Go to BC if you wanna play golf- Metro and Guavaberry are 20 minutes away. Both are decent courses.
Sosua doesn't have as good of golf options. But the nightlife is much more happening. BC is pretty run down, but that is not saying Sosua is a gem either. Sosua has a nicer beach for sure.

Boca chica

I have stayed in boca chica 5 times. 4 at oasis hamaca, 1 at don juan. I first stayed there in 03 and I think it is not as good as it once was. Its not all that safe and if you leave the resorts at night you are taking a big risk. I do travel alone and it may be difrent if you are in a group. YES there are lots of chicas all over the town. The bars close at 2:00am so be aware that you have only one option. If you go to the were the main road of boca chica turns were the hamaca is you will see a big casino. If you keep going north after the casino you will find a bar on the left wich when I was there in november stayed open until 7:00am. Its not legaly aloud but its boca chica so. The guy that runs the place name is Oscar. Great guy to. He has very big arms and speaks good english. He can get you any thing you want if he likes you. Be aware of the police if you plan to do not so good things. They have realy cracked down on boca chica in the last few years. Any way if you go there and remember to use coution in your
conduct than you will have a BLAST.
