walmart.... kmart... get the picture?

i am just curious... are there any walmarts.... kmarts.... or places similar to these in the dr...... i know that these stores can be found all over the globe..... i wasn't sure if maybe they might have them in the tourist areas.... or maybe in the capital...

Kmart is coming soon. I think they are supposed to build 6 stores in the D.R. Obviously, there will be a couple stores just in Santo Domingo.

try Carrefour for now, Kmart soon...

There is a similar store in Santo Domingo.. Carrefour
It's about the size of a large Kmart, but is split between groceries and all the assortment you'd find at a Kmart-Walmart..

Santiago has one in la calle del sol, but that one is not so good. Santiago also has a better one at a shopping plaza called La Super POLA. I dont know de exact address to this one. Just ask people around that city. BYE!!

What do you want to buy? The stores here are more "Specialized".I like the new PLAZA LAMA at 27 de Feb.con La Churchill.They have a little of everything.I like Cuesta For "Hardware", La Amaricana por la Kennedy has good "Hardware too.

well i was kind of looking for housewares..... i plan to be moving there, and the less i have to bring.... the better!
also about how much does a stove run.... new.... used...?
what about a refrigerator?

for houseware go to La Sirena, trust me its a store. For appliences go to Plaza Lama they have one in Santiago at La Calle del Sol.

Stoves start at 6,000 and up,a fridge, about 12,000 .At Plaza Lama.They will lower the price if you pay cash.I have bought many TVs, and household appliances at Plaza Lama,the LG "Brand", and have not been disappointed.Good Luck,and welcome!
