Replying to Swede:

I was referring where yogurt is sold, in the Dairy products section (but I will concede that eggs don't come from cows). With all due respect to you and your daughter-vet, I still disagree.

A comment found in a reputable breeders/vets publication:

"The one thing I found to be absolutely deadly through many
hours of research in school was the active cultures in yogurt.
Yogurt sometimes contains several active bacteria cultures
that can be deadly to a dog who may end up being allergic to
it without ever knowing. If you have had success in the past
feeding yogurt to your dogs, my comment would have to be that
you are lucky."

So while I'm sure that in many cases dogs can have no problem with the stuff, I sure wouldn't spin the roulette wheel with my pups. And I sure wouldn't want to have to clean up what comes out after such a diet.

But I do agree that you can't beat a good dry dog food, when the dog is well enough to deal with it.
