weather in January

My family and I have booked a holiday in Bavaro 14 nights mid January 2000. I have tried to find out the true weather picture for this time, holiday brochures say the weather is hot but reviews on the net say warm .I would appreciate information from people who have been on hols in January as to what the weather is likley to be

temperature whether called "hot" or "warm" depends on the person and what he is used to. I have been there in January and to me, who is used to freezing winters, it feels hot, though in the mountains it gets cool enough at night to wear long sleeves and a light blanket. The temperature of the island varies little throughout the year.

You will be swimming and "roasting" in the sun in January at the beach

Ditto for what Tom said. It will be warm, warm, warm, although there will be constant Caribbean breezes to prevent you from being too hot. The eastern and southern parts of the island do not get too much rain during the month of January either. Enjoy your stay!
