Does anyone know of any websites that keeps up-to-date information regarding rainfall totals in the Dominican Republic? It has been raining an incredible amount in Samana this December. I was just curious to know how much rain we got so far. Please don’t give me the same answer as the guy at the colmado. He told me “mucho”. 😂

So I'm guessing "muy mucho" won't help a lot either.

Sorry, just couldn't resist.

Thanks Bob. I did not see it on the second link but now that I clicked on the first link, I see what you are referring to. It has been an incredible amount of rain here.

We use that simple little thing called a rain gauge. Last 6 days we're at 3.9 inches plus what's falling out there right now. We're like Bob in Jarabacoa, in Sajoma there aren't many flat spots to accumulate rain and the soil drains easily.

Check out the Dominican Republic's National Meteorological Office website; they usually have the latest rainfall stats. Also, some local weather apps give good updates.

We got at least 5" over night twice in a week as that's how far my pool was down till it over topped. I pumped the excess rain water into the cistern since Corraplata can seem to deliver water

Haha, yeah, "mucho" is about as specific as you'll get from most folks around here! I haven't found a super reliable, up-to-the-minute rainfall website specifically for the DR.
