What do you think of this bamboo fence idea?

I would still do a concrete block wall then rip the bamboo in half and use a good industrial adhesive (and Tapcon screws) to attach the bamboo to the concrete.
I also wouldn't build it over a puddle as reilley mentioned.

Katie - It looks like the bamboo screen is hung on something else - probably an existing wall. I think you can order that bamboo stuff in a roll. And if you don't have an existing wall, you could have somebody build you a frame out of pressure treated wood.

Absolutely correct.
Its not hard at all.
Actually Bamboo can be quite difficult to control once planted if not maintained.
Beware, roots can wreak havoc on undeground pipes and wires.
Absolutely.. it can run wild & wilder if you choose the wrong type

Gracilis is one that won't spread - perhaps the only one that won't

A new luxury high rise in the neighborhood planted Gracilis in front of the cement wall around the property, and it worked great... they only trim it once in a while.............
