The dreaded murder hornet?

Trust me, it scared the hell out of me when it bounced off my shoulder.
I would guess a type of a Black Spider Wasp.
I've seen a few similar in the area in the past few weeks.

I dont know anything about them from personal experiences ,
but i do know this much about Hornets and wasps .. the Aggressive ones will just attack and sting , you will never even see it coming , they are so fast .. I have gotten stung a bunch of times , even in the face ..and it hurts pretty bad .
The non Aggressive ones will literally fly near your head and do nothing . or bounce off of you.
Bumble bees/ Carpenter Bees do the same, they are large , but totally Harmless .
The reason I also say this , on several Pest Control sites ( who get paid to kill ) they state the following about the Black Wasp
" Since the great black wasp is not aggressive and is an important predator of harmful insects and a good pollinator of flowering plants, there is no reason for the homeowner to control them. "
