What is the best hotel in Santiago?
I was under cover...I usually go as a bum.....( ps I dont think you have your days right...I was in Sosua sat night) ( but I did get a fever this trip!!!)
Our first stop was Tribecca Bar, they said you had to go dressed nice to Tribecca.....so I went dressed nice...they made me take my ear ring out...but let a guy with a t shirt and ripped blue jeans in!!! go figure....
do you think the ruse worked for the Platino???

still not sure as of today. i have a san jose costa rica airfare (419.00) on hold for those dates and a room reservation at the del rey. 545.00 was my price out of bwi to sti. i need to decide quickly so the hotel doesn't lose out because i have a room on hold.

Actually, they raised my rate from RD$1150 to RD$1450 between December and February. Go figure. I was a little ****ed.
I DO get what they call "corporate rate". Maybe that's the difference, I dunno...
I usually get the "Junior Suite". Small, but I don't spend much time in the room. Thye shower is small, however, I agree.

Executive suite: Small dinning area, Bedroom with king bed, seperate area with jacuzzi and skylite, bathroom with shower, 2 TV's etc. only 2400.00. My favorite by far when staying in Santiago. Indoor parking of course. Very guest friendly.

LOL That's right. Never noticed it as I leave my clothes on the couch.
Good Q. I've never stayed more than 2 days. Never left valuables in the room. Except one day I left my wife there for 6 hrs. and when I got back she was still there. Go figure. I'ma dead man. LOL.
Never stayed for more than 2 days. If you let the guys at the reception know you're leaving or the "watchman" they close the gate. For several days, you probably have to go to plan B.

A hotel that I like to use in Santiago is the Rotunda, on the northern entrance to the city. Rooms are 350p night with fan, and 700 with ac-fridge. It is next to transporte espinal, has an internet center in front and is pretty nice, and the price is right.

Do you have their phone number?, I stayed at the Colonial for 540 pesos with AC, but their rooms are so small, poor lighting and the TV romote controls don't usually work. Not to mention I killed 2 roaches during my week stay. Yuck !!
