Banks scare me in the DR with the Economic situation the way it is there now. Shades of Argentina and Ecuador come to mind.
I have only a few thousand in Banks in the DR. Now finance houses aren't regulated by the government and I feel more confident dealing with them than a bank. I think that there may be a "Taking" of Dollars from the Banks if this government gets into trouble and they need dollars to pay for Oil and food etc..
Happened in Argentina and Ecuador.
