Y Laprofe? Grace something,here in Puerto Plata. Secretary to the archbishop, worked in the Cathedral.Did logistics for doctors n tour from New York at times etc... Still here Grace?

I was just wondering about her, we had lunch several years ago and used to chat regularly when DR1 had the chat room.

i used to visit with her regularly, but have not made it down to the cathedral in a long while. let me put that on my to do list...she was taking contributions to help a young girl with a growth disorder...it will be interesting to see how she is progressing..

I picked her up at the airport a couple of times. Drove doctors around that she arranged for, who were here on a volunteer basis etc...

yes, she always was involved with volunteers who came to help the poor...

i hope she still is...

I will try to communicate with her. If I cannot reach her, I will contact the Bishop's secretary. (Grace was a grant write and program facilitator, not a secretary.) Either way, I'll post what I find out. She was a good friend of mine. I know she returned to Buffalo because her kids were having some medical problems. But that was more than 2 years ago. I dropped off a computer for her at her office in Puerto Plata just after she left and never heard anything since.

thanks for the info. i know her children were having some medical challenges, and she left with the intention of returning, but she never seemed to have done so.

please let us know what you discover. next time i am in the Parque Central area, i will stop in to see what i can find out.

I did some investigating......Grace is fine. She will be coming back here to work in the Bishop's office within the next month or two. I wrote her an email message and got no response- was worried- so glad in the end to get good news.

I went to Mississippi and spent a few months and then to Colombia for to get skin cancer cut off my face and then to Panama for 90 days, and back to Mississippi. After a heart attack and two strokes I decided I may as well come back to the DR where life is slower and I may live a bit longer. Because as we all know three strokes and you are out!
