Mike, you know the folks that high-tailed it out of here like the DR was cancer, now romancing getting back to the puta and palm tree dream. Also, newsflash for the folks who left by paying large overstays, you may not be let back in!
That’s for another thread, but after this virus I have a feeling they’ll welcome each and everyone with a pulse.

Mike Fisher, laugh all you want. After you finish a 32 year career in the airline industry, feel free to regale us with your vast experience instead of the pure conjecture on your part that you blabber on about here. Now tell us about your vast experience with airline schedules again.
Guess I picked the wrong day to stop sniffin glue

Ok, so I have no link, no source to "quote"...,etc...but spouses cousin is a HIGH ranking official (and yes I know we all know one). I need to get back for the sale of our condo. He (cousin) told my spouse safe bet is August-Sept. I am citizen so I will see in the next month or so how flights are going/or not.

Closing the tread suggests that there is nothing of any value here to be had in regards to "When will the border be opened?" Isn't that the case? People come and go attracted by the subject title. Several individuals claim to have some knowledge beyond what is published in various media sources. Then voice a strong "opinion". IDK, what is the value??

Looks like July 5 is the day airports will open.

Phase IV

It will be in phase four, estimated for next July 5 (election day) , when all companies resume their work with 100% of their staff.
In addition, in this phase tourism will be reactivated, opening hotels and airports, as well as gyms and restaurant dining rooms.
"In this phase we will have resumed economic normality," they assured the Commission.

I think someone, a few hundred posts ago, had suggested election day. They get a jumbo Presidente or Brahma when I arrive.

Probably nothing will happen until the election results are solidified. Don't count on it in the least.

That's the date & airline we're supposed to fly out on. Not that we don't love it here, we do, but have things that need to be done back in the States. We're keeping our fingers crossed.
American airlines called me today to confirm my June 6th flight to Santo Domingo. The Rep stated the flight was good.

American has scheduled flights to SDQ and STI starting on June 4th, but just becuase they are scheduled doesn't mean they will actually fly. I would say June 6th is highly doubtful.
