Not a problem for me.... Windy will be fine too

I have a daughter flying back.... DR to UK via NYC

Maybe the stock market knows something about pending openings. American Airlines and Delta stock are up super strong this a.m in pre-market trading.

Here one view about airline stocks.

"While it might be tempting to buy deeply depressed stocks, we are reluctant to buy cyclical companies with huge operating and/or financial leverage. There is a risk of permanent loss of capital given the extremely wide range of economic possibilities over the next few years."

I hope that DR skies will soon be full of tourist planes.

My wife and I won't see our family and house till 2022, but we are fortunate to manage affairs from the outside, including further construction.
Each person has their own needs and agenda.

The UK quarantine does indeed start at midnight today, UK time. But it will be reviewed every 3 weeks, the UK death rate from the virus is finally dropping and most people seem to think that by mid July it will quietly be dropped as it's reasonably unworkable in any case. If you refuse to give them details of where you are staying, they fine you £100, so it will probably be easier to do that and just give them £100 if they stop you and ask where you are staying.

The uncertainty will keep many from booking flights between the UK and the DR. I don’t see that route Gatwick-Punta Cana starting in July.

The reason for the rise in the stocks of the airlines is because people are buying tickets to the DR at exhorbitant prices even though the border is still closed. Dominican government will open it's borders by August 1st. In the interim, the airlines are selling tickets as if the Dominican borders were already open
This is wrong.. American Airlines yesterday confirmed flights starting July 7 to PUJ

Confirmations by major airlines is hogwash. I was at LGA yesterday. It was downright depressing. It looked like you were arriving into a Cuban airport.

Few tourists, hardly any movement, most employees just hanging around. I didn't see or hear one plane coming in or taking off. It looked like a burial at the cemetery.

These airlines are just guessing with those schedules. The president has to request another extension tomorrow if he wants one. I think he does.

Maybe we'll have a better idea by the end of the week(?).

This is not factual. There are peaceful protests in major cities due to police brutality , but a 3rd world country ??? 😂😂😂

Dominicans are NOT in a rush to get out of US or anyone for that matter.

Due to obvious reasons, airlines have cut up
to 85% of flights . There are exponentially less flights therefore prices will not be what they were pre-covid for now at least.

Due to industry economics and gvt. restrictions.... the airline industry is one of the most hurt of all.

3rd World country ??? The nerve jaja

I know Dominicans within the US of A, and RD that tell me that what they are experiencing, and images they are seeing over the last two weeks remind them of Haiti. I am one of them.
You do not get more Dominican than them or I, and you do not get more 3rd world than Haiti.
