This is my last post on this subject as some of you people are really dense. I have been living in Argentina with my Dominican girlfriend for morre then a few years so I think I know whats happening here. First off EVERY ONE gets a visa stamp when they enter this poor excuse of a country. ( Its really just a soccer fan club with a really big flag) Ninety days tourist visa unless you have residency. Its free, its automatic. They require a pre-approved , pre-paid visa's from dangerous people. (for example US citizens, like myself). My girlfriend and I just returned here ( Argentina ) and as long as she had a return ticket to get out there there is no entrance requirements, just proof that you can get out again, much like many other country's.

Im just curious to know when was last time that you and your girlfriend were in Argentina, as you know rules can change, last year we could go to Chile and starting September 2013 they started to ask for visa to Dominicans, so the same way after Chile Argentina did the same thing.

I have an Argentinean friend that is actually living and working for a company in Santo Domingo and he confirmed to me that now Dominicans can not visit argentina if we dont have an aproved visa before departure.

I guess you friend knows more than Copa Airlines that services Argentina. If Copa says no Visa, then you can bet they are right. Because if they put you on the plane and you are sent back they pay a very large fine.

Just cross off first world desirable countries and you can go to many of the rest. Once a Dominican manages to get to a half decent country where he can make a living as an illegal he is never going back to the DR.

Really? I lived in Toronto for 3 years and happily moved back once my visa expired, even though I had the option to apply for Permanent Resident status after my 2nd year there, and had a good steady legal desk job at a major corporation there. I have had US Visa ever since I can remember too, and have traveled to the US almost every year since I was about 8 years old, and we have all returned, I've been around Europe, and also returned... as have many of my friends.

I would like to place a bet for 1,000 dollars with you. Why would you call copa and not the argentinan consulate?

If you read in copa website when you are checking visa requirements they says they are not responsible for the information they post, before your trip you must confirm with the consulate the information that they give, and yes my friend knows more than Copa, he travel every 3 months to Argentina and so other countries, the company that he works take some Dominicans to Argentina so he knows.

I just called copa 1-809-200-2772 Option 1 for spanish, and option 1 for general informacion, Hi Im Dominican and I would like to know if we need Visa to go to Argentina, wait a minute Sr. let me check. then YES, Dominicans need visa to go Argentina, so for your next trip to Argentina tell your girlfriend visit the Argentinean Consulate in Santo Domingo.

My GF had been to argentina 4 times. In 2012 we were staying in Brasil for three months. She went to argentinan consulate in brasil and was told she did not meet vida requirements for argentina. They told her all the documents used for her 4th brasilian visa were not sufficient.

Here is a tourist visa app for dominicans on the website of the consulate.

Keep believing COPA if you'd like.

As far as airline BS my GF traveled from sao paulo to Lima and was denied entry. Sent back on LAN as Peru had also changed and now required visa for dominicans.

Poor girl traveled all night and then had to call me crying to say she could not enter. She pulled a miracle and got a visa from Peruvian consulate next day. I had to purchase her new tickets and we had a great trip.

LAN may have paid a "very large fine" but they still screwed up and let her board the plane sin visa.

Will you care to take up. Y 1000 dollar wager?

Just as an FYI, if you get denied boarding because you don't have the appropriate travel documents and visas, the airline is not responsible, even if they were the ones who told you you didn't need one.

Official government websites says Dominicans require a visa. Same as the Consulate info Rafael posted earlier. Can we move on now?

How about $10,000 my friend. If you are in the DR we can draw up a contact.

I am in santo domingo. We can meet at consulate on maximo gomez. Been there done that. Visa required.

They have a phone number. Why not call them instead of COPA? Lol

NO. . . . . You owe me TEN THOUSAND ones, lol!

Law changed in 2012. We went to consulate to get visa before leaving to brasil for 3 months. Law was so new they did not know requirements. At consulate in Brasil they werebbusting zgFs choos so hard that she said screw it and stayed in sao paulo while I traveled to BA. The guy never heard of scotia bank or banco popular. Saidcmy docs from Chase were not good enough etc.

I am sure if we went to consulate here they would give her the visa. She has been four times, never over stayed in any country etc. colombia and ecuador seem like the last two places for dominicans without visas.

Uruguay is OK for Dominicans without a Visa. At least for now.

I will say Only Colombia and Ecuador because Uruguay is thinking change rules too and start to ask for visas to Dominicans, too much Dominican staying there to work as Maids and Prostitution, but the bad part of that is they take loans as one girls says in the report and now can not pay because is been very hard there, and is not like they though. Putting in guarantee the house of your parents for US$5,000.00 to take an adventure, crazy, instead to think a little bit and create an small bussines with that money and stay home where not body will kick you out.
