Hi to all of you,
anybody here knows where i can store a Sailboat on his Trailer (8 x 2.3 meters) ? I'm looking for a good and safe place with a functioning security.
It must be closed to the Sea but about the where i'am totally flexible. Juan Dolio, La Romana, Punta Cana or even Samana, Las Terrenas works for me.
Any info including price and maybe personal experience would be highly apriciated.

Puerto Bahia in Samana fits your description; 140 usd ex VAT per month.... also nice flat sea overthere
Thank you so much ! That was exactly what i was looking for, Dry Dock went up to 150$ / month but still a perfect solution.

Hi Manuel,
You could store it at my house in rio san juan and we could work out a good rate (50$ / Month) if you would take me sailing with you 2-3 times a year.
what model is it and what draft is it, can it be launched from a trailer?

Hi,
its a ;
Hobie 16 ; Crew: 1-4 ; Length: 16' 7" / 5.04 m ; Beam: 7' 11" / 2.41 m ; Capacity: 800 lbs/362 kg (US) / 529 lbs/240 kg (EU) ; Weight: 320 lbs / 145 kg ...
I am about to get it to the country in aug. To give you a better idea; it's about 30% bigger than the ones that are used in resorts. Rio San Juan is quite far away so but i apriciate your offer and might get back to you in the summer.
Thanks a Lot

Oh a hobie 16, very nice fun-boat.
It's small, you can store it for 25$ till you found something suitable but probably after mentioning what boat it is you will get more replies.
If you don't mind me asking, how are you getting it down here?
I have a hobie island here. Once you get here then let me know and we go sailing in samana bay.

But ideally the north coast is not the right location for this boat, it's the atlantic and pretty rough most of the time.
Samana bay would be ideal or the south.

You have to consider also the dominican "despacho" system. they won't allow you everywhere to just drop the boat in from any beach and just go sailing.

I get it into the country on his trailer with seaboard (friend of mine works for this company in miami. I agree, Samana is perfect for this boot.

very nice to have a friend like that (y)
I was going to contact seaboard (seadom) this week to see how much it would cost me to ship a macgregor 26M over here + clearance, + taxes, ...

think about it twice. It might be better selling yours and buying one here? If you look around and if you are not in a rush you can always pick up boats here for pennies.
A beneteau 50 that I was interested in (could also have been a 47 or 45) went for 20000$. the owner was initially asking for 100k.
I was in touch with this guy, a beautiful boat as I think supposedly taxes all paid so you can get a dominican matricula and flag.
but not very good for the north coast (I know the macgregor either) but at least I can leave her in rio san juan marina, trailer her and motor her fast and it has a spacious cabin.
Some guy was selling a hobie island tandem with cover and trailer for 3000$ the other day.
There was a english guy selling a fully equipped sailboat last week, livaboards which he was sailing across the atlantic and living on it for 7 years. it was on facebook market. said 22ft but looked bigger somehow in santo domingo, he was asking for 7000$ and sold for 2500$
