Where to buy generator?

I am considering to buy a new generator in the DR (automatic, gasol). Can anybody tell me where is the best place with good choice and good prices? How much money do I have to expect to pay for a planta of about 3 kW? I would prefer something on the north coast but could go to Santiago or Santo Domingo as well.

I would recommend an invertor. You will spend more initially but maintanence and fuel costs are less over the long run.
