Which Currency should I take on Holiday?

I will be getting in late on a Saturday night and taking a bus from Santo Domingo to Sosua on Sunday. Should I keep everything in US$ or exchange some at the airport? Will Caribe take US$ and will I take an exchange rate beating if they do? I've heard the excahnge rate at the airport is the worst. Is this so?

The bank has always been open on arrival so you can get RD$ there. Besides, the Metro/Caribe fares are so cheap how bad can you get clipped on a $5 purchase? Pay them RD$200 at 40:1 instead of RD$175 at 37:1? Really for a small payment don't worry about it, but you should be able to obtain a few RD$ on arrival.

U.S Dollars

I am going on holiday in November for 2 weeks and am unsure whether to take US dollars, sterling or travellers cheques with me. Any ideas anyone?

I always take U.S dollars then change them while Im there. As we get a good rate of Dollar to our Pound.
