Which resort is nicer Iberstar Dorado or Riu Bachta in puerto plata. Both are the same price. I will be traveling with two couples in our mid 20's. We aren't concerned about nightlife we just want to know which is more luxiorious for eating, drinking and amenities

If you don't get the response you want, try a new thread with a different title. I almost didn't read your thread. I am glad I did.

You want to know about LUXURY HOTELS In POP. Which one is fancier, right? I don't know the answer.

Good luck and enoy your trip!

Both are fairly equivalent. They are upper tier of Puerto Plata hotels only surpassed by Casa Colonial (a non-AI boutique hotel). If you are flying into Puerto Plata airport, Iberostar is about 25 minutes closer to the airport. If you are flying into Santiago airport, Riu is about 25 minutes closer.

Both are nice...........

...........but if you want to be closer to "things" Iberostar Dorado would be your best choice. It is right next door to Playa Dorada Hotels (you could walk if you wanted to) which would give you access to other disco's, casino's etc....and is closer to town if you wish to go..........You'd need a taxi to go EVERYWHERE from Riu Bachta.

Iberostar Dorado

We stayed at the Iberostar in November and it was very good. The restaurants/food was above average, the entertainment very enjoyable, the service and personnel excellent. The room was only average however. Good mix of people; singles, families, and seniors. Overall we were quite pleased and would go back there. I don't know much about the Riu but when we looked into choosing a hotel we found tripadvisor.com very helpful and I think the Riu was much further awayfrom POP airport and Sosua/Cabarete.
