We got one last November. Now I wonder why we waited so long! We cook almost everything in it. Even Pizzas. Eating nice chuletas right now...very juicy, yet crispy! Electricity bill the same as it ever was. The gas bill, considerably lower!

What's wrong with your plain old oven?
As far as oil goes, it is already embedded into those onion rings, yuca fries, tater tots and other seafood things anyways.

Exactly, and the Air Fryer heats up the food and the Oil drips to the bottom .. The food comes out Crispy, with a lot less , or NO Oil ..

Potato Hash browns for example are taken to a whole other Level of perfection .

Those of u who dont like your Air Fryer, maybe you are not using it correctly . but to each his / her own ..
I'm not giving mine up anytime soon.

What got me thinking about one is there are a couple of food places here that use them for their food. The stuff they deliver is constantly good tasting and never oily.
Seemed to me it was something I should look into.

I'm on the fence about buying one and wondered if I should order a pack of liners at the same time.

I'll probably use it once a week at most.

I have one and I use it way more than I use the normal cooker. It makes wonderful french fries (just throw in frozen ones and they come out really nice), sausages, salmon, steaks, so many things you can do with it. I bought one for my mother, she said she would never use it and now says she uses it more than anything else.

You don't need the liners, just wash it every time you use it.

Well...
It seems as though I have been well and truly chastised as the general consensus seems to be pro air fryer.
lol.
In my defense I am an old school scratch cook who doesn't own a microwave and who kneads her own bread.
So what do I know?
I'll admit I'm still trying to master a crisp sweet potato fry.
I've tried the corn starch route but...
To date no joy.
Oh and...
My baked potatoes in the oven are the bomb.
No tin foil either.

You and me both. I do have microwaves in DR and USA but only use them to reheat or steam vegetables.

Better question is , does it Jolt the hydro/electric bill there , using an air fryer?
Let's do simple math:
Suppose the air fryer is 1500Watts
You are using the air fryer "full power" for 30minutes, that means 750Watts
1kWh is here (Bavaro) about RD$ 18 so 30minutes full power will cost you RD$ 13.5.
Every day for 1 month is about RD$ 400 (US$ 7.25)

Thank you. Nice , even used science(math). I like facts over opinions.

Potatoes in the air fryer come out so crisp on the outside and so fluffy on the inside. Just rub them with a bit of oil and a bit of sea salt. The butter and sour cream just melt into them. They are heaven. You are lucky (or good), I have never been able to make them the same in an oven or bbq.

Are you talking about freshly peeled/cut potatoes, or frozen ones?
