If the schedule remained the same, it would mean that the moron would have no job.

Having government run electricity distribution companies is the single worst thing the DR government has ever done.

which idiot did you have in mind. You sound a little hot under the collar. My favorite is when the lights have been off for ages. They come on, everyone cheers and laughs then after one minute they go off for another five hours. Never did get used to that one although I do hold the cheer in for a full minute. They are not fooling me again like that.

Ede Este for example has fixed schedules on non-24 hour circuits. Some sectors have had the same schedule for years, day after day. I do not understand what is your problem.

You can also check your schedule on Portal de Circuitos - CDEEE

As I understand it, in our part of Sosewage, we have apagons in the morning on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and then in the afternoon on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and then the next week, the schedule flips.

Because, yes. Absolutely. That makes sense. 2.5 World logic.

The north coast schedule does change for reasons only Edenorte could explain (which I doubt). And frequently the schedule is not properly updated on the link you provided.

Having the government run electricity distribution shows exactly why socialism fails.

And that is exactly the result of the socialistic failed experiment.

My problem is very simple... I know about the schedule... I've been checking it every week for the past 3 months...

I have a 7.5 kw inverter with 8 batteries so I don't really care if there is power or not except... when there are scheduled interruptions for 2 blocs of mas o menos 4 hrs each time. At least, please follow the schedule.

So, usually, following the schedule, I can plan my stuff to do with the "luz" in the mornings that are usually scheduled WITH luz. Like I said, one day with, one day without luz in the mornings.

So it was this week only that the schedule is kinda f**ked up with NO luz at all in the mornings... That's it... Not to hard to understand no ??

And BTW, yes I know where I live and I adapted to all the "funny" stuff that happens but some times, once and a while, I get p*ssed off... But I still love this place.

I doubt that they sat down and said should we choose socialism or capitalism to provide la luz to the country. When the choice was made, there was probably no real alternative but for the gov to provide it. Anyone know the real history?

(And, as a side note, the private company here charges about three times the rate the gov company charges - take your pick. Reliable service and high rates, or ...)

All I know is we have electricity 24/7 in Punta Cana with CEPM. But also pay 25 cents per KW. It's not cheap.

As I understand, the government took over the energy distribution. The common people developed a notion that electricity was a right and not a commodity for which money needed to be paid. That mindset has taken hold.
They have tried to institute an electricity police (forgot the name) to disconnect illegal connections and they failed miserably at making people actually pay for what they used. Both the poor and some very large "customers" steal power.

PICHARDO insists that smart meters and meters that accept payment for services used are on the way but nothing has happened. This has resulted in 4 levels of service from A to D where people get from 24 to 12 hours of power a day based upon how much is paid for on that circuit.

Nobody has the balls to pull the plug and give power only to those that pay.
