Of course, it's called hunger my fren.

Yeah in certain cases I would say so, but I see it all the time with people taking completely unnecessary risks just for the heck of it or as something that they enjoy. Some of those people like peter said are free climbing places such as "El Capitan" (See image below) or base jumping, etc...I remember seeing a show (Can't seem to find it) about how certain people are just born with a "deficiency" of a certain hormone or whatever that makes them not have the same rational fears that the rest of us would normally have under those circumstances.

I did have one of my friends die in a mountaineering accident in the Alps. (Mountaineering is completely different thing than rock climbing.) He was rappelling down with a rope around a large rock as his anchor. But the conditions were such that ice under the rock made it fall off the ledge it was on and he fell over 500 ft. Pretty damn horrible. His wife witnessed it and she had to be rescued. They wouldn't let her see the body because it was so mangled, and the whole incident left her shattered for the rest of her life. After all that, the insurance company tried to claim that he had committed suicide...

No.

Its called - having a wife and kids !!

the danger of the job is small potatoes compared to the torture of a wife nagging about money and bills.

and small potatoes compared to seeing the sad faces of your kids if they dont have enough to eat or have a present for birthday or christmas.....
