I saw this today. Through the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA), the Dominican Government promotes the production of wines from the country whose manufacture is located mainly in Neyba, Bahoruco province,
This is very exciting. I am looking forward assistance in developing my ski resort in EL Mamey

Grapes are grown in the Neiba/Barahona area and Dominican wine made from these grapes has generally been a sweet, not a very fine wine. During the pandemic, I meet a person online who is involved with a group in making a fine wine in the DR using Dominican grown grapes. They have been at it for a. number of years now and I recently saw the wine advertised on Mi Pueblo por Dentro TV show. Can't remember the name.

You will also find locally made "wines" made from cacao, mango, cana and other fruits and spices. Some are okay.

If you talking about ski resorts, try the mountains. They do get some frost up there every once in awhile.

Where is the avocadolibrarian when you need him? :)
(He was a fellow that tried to make wine making his business out near Patta de Gallina a while back).

All joking aside: Wine from DR grapes? Not likely to be good, but maybe they have a way.

I hope the OP is aware that the New World's first winery happened in the 1500's around the Ocoa Bay area. While the South hasn't received much interest for creating wine, it's the one region of the Caribbean where a winery isn't a new concept. The place where wine was created for the first time in the Americas has a new winery.

As for ski, Dubai shows it can be done in a hotter and drier place than much of the DR. When was the last time that Dubai had a blizzard?
