This is my 2nd world cup living in the DR and what I really love about it is that on Sunday I can go and watch the game in a bar full of Germans and provided I don't make any inflammatory remarks we can all enjoy the game together and a drink afterwards.

Indeed, I have seen grown-ups cry as if they lost a close relative when their team loses.

I saw even soccer multimillionaires crying in front of ESPN cameras today.
business as usual.
I guess each Italian defender lost 20 millions Euros of value on the transfer sheets today,
while Slovakian Players sure doubled their transfer value and their manager's cellphone will ring all day and night long.

right Conchman,
Podolski played a bad season in the Bundesliga, playing in a bad Team where a striker with his potential should not play in the first place,
I awaited that the fact of the missed season would have a positive effect on his play at the Cup, that it pushes him mentally to show the whole soccer world including the German critics that they are all wrong and he's the Man, but sorrily it isn't.
Klose,
he's a special Man in the Team,
he is one who is important and helpful even when on the Bench, a big load of experience, even a Striker he is a guy when the situation makes it necessary, who moves effectively backwards from his striker position and can play any other field there without the Team needs to change.
Kiesling,
I don't understand why he did not get a chance til now,
for the England Team Kiesling and Cacau side by side would be my personal choice of striking force.
Lahm,
Boy, did he grow over his natural size,
to make him the Captain been a big psychological weapon, he really runs a game all over the field, he defends the Goalline/he pushes the Team forward, most offensive pressure by Germany is done over the right side, with Lahm assisting there and Mueller playing in my opinion great games,
sorrily Lahm did not have the technics/luck to strike that Goal when he went into the 18 yards box yesterday, for his great job done he would have deserved that.
Germany's left wing needs improvement.

that's anyways the idea of the game for us fanatics, isn't it??
ha ha,
i know of at least 5 English friends who will watch the game with me and several Germans and other nationalities at a Bar in Bavaro sunday morning,
we will drink for sure, it's Fruehschoppen time,
we sure will call each other's and opposite Team's Players names for at least 90 minutes,
we will sure not get into any real fight,
there will be a celebrating crowd inviting the loosing crowd for some aftermath drinks,
there will be a loosing crowd accepting that invitation,
i don't expect many tears,
we will just have Fun.

may the better performing Team on sund morning Win,
no Green needed b/c we have no clue about golfing,
I wish Wayne a smooth and save flight back home sunday afternoon,
til now no storm over the African Saharah Desert in vicinity, lol.

Blackdog,
no score prediction from my side.
i await a tied game,
may it be a 0:0 or 1:1, but i guess an extratime is very likely.
both will not take a risk against the given opponent.
i just wished there would be a simple golden goal rule without penalties,
doesn't matter how long they need to run to score the golden one.

They could settle it like this if the game is tied at full time,

M.C. "Who thinks England were best"?
Crowd " Yeeeaaahhhhhhhh"
M.C. "Who thinks Germany were best"?
Crowd " Yeeeeeaaaahhhhh"
M.C. "Germany"?
Crowd "Yeeeeaaaaahhhhhh"
M.C. "England"?
Crowd "Yyyyeeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhh"

M.C. "OK England are the winners" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you think? LOL

Actually, thinking about it, if we have to rely on the English being 'louder' than the Germans, I think I'd rather have penalties!!!!! LOL
Just kidding everyone!

ha ha
I assume the 'english' do still not expect much of their Team.
com on guys,
they made the first round,
that's all what counts for playing the first round.
never ever did any team get the Title for playing "nice/beautiful/grandioso",
it is a tournament and only laying succesful every round bring's the finish.
when did you see my favs Brazil play "nice" on such??
never.
they do what has to be done to advance.
now we are in the 'eliminatoras',
now the tactics of suitable draws etc etc finished.
here we Go.
England has potential,
yes, they did hide it very successful til now,
yes, some of their own players seem to not believe in it, yet,
but Hey,
let 'em fight and play well on sunday morning for fruehschoppen time
and of course the Germans win by one simple lil Goal!!!
he he

This World Cup it's all about the vuvuzela:

Germany Explodes In Orgy Of Vuvuzela Violence

wuuuuhahahaha
great link, thanks, he he.

I can asure ya, even that I am german,
I would not use such Vuvuzela not even in a stadium, and it would drive myself nuts if a neighbour would use it for hours.
I can really feel with the Ax-Guy,
I just would not have bothered to carry a big Ax,
I would have simply pulled a Gun to shut 'em up, lolol.

without Vuvuzala and watching alone at home on the Veranda,
I am cheering Chile and Switzerland the same time now.

tomorrow I will cheer the US-Boys,
even that I do not see much Player's potential in their Team,
but I really like the way they never give up
and watching the way they really play with all of their heart,
that's something I miss to see on so many Teams.

and the, without Vuvuzela, away I go for the sunday morning fruehschoppen.

Let me be the first to state that I am looking forward to USA v. Brazil in semi's for all the reason's that Mike mentioned. Sometimes I tend to compensate enthusiasm for intellect.

"sometime" we can agree on something, lol.
Germany versus Brazil or Germany versus the USA would be a final.
I would happily look forward to either of both.

sad to see today the bad behavior of Chile,
I really cheered both games to see Chile and Swiss advance.
but I guess the swiss Alps been frozen in a snowstorm today, he he
