I thought maybe we could help each other out by telling each other of any great deals we come across that we ourselves are not going to be interested in. I plan on going away for the Xmas but staying in the country. Looking at around 22nd till 28th. I have spent about an hour searching and not come up with anything of interest yet, but that is only using my usual sites.

If I can't find anything for Xmas for us then I will go to the Northcoast alone for the new year for 3 or 4 days, and so same applies.

If you have come across anything then please list it up on this thread.

Thanks.

What part of the DR would like to stay?

I don't mind, for the Xmas I would require A/I, and of decent standard, good for kids, clean and secure with good fun animation for family entertainment.

For the new year alone, none A/I, I will be away from the hotel 75% of the time and so really just a secure place to sleep, eat breakfast if I want and know I'm not gunna get a hand down my pants on the way to my room. I hate sleazy hotels with whores hanging around and guys offering drugs etc and the porter staff looking to hook me up.

If you find any of "Those" hotels, "PM" me right away!!!!
The hotels raise their rates during ALL holiday, long weekend periods.
We are going to the Hotel Hamaca an "AI",in BC for 4 nights in early December to celebrate my youngest daughter's birthday.
Rate for 5 adults, and two children, in two adjoining rooms, 60,000 pesos!
That's about $1,500 in REAL money!
AND,I'm on a diet, and none of us "Drink", so I would rather not go, but I was "Out Voted" 5 to 1.
But I STILL get to pay!

Yeh it's expensive over December. You aren't going to miss out much at the Hamaca, it's a dive the food is crap, the pool full of arseholes (obviously) at weekends and the staff are as much use a dissolvable condom. You might get checked in before your checking out date if you're lucky.

But you know that about Hamaca, why on earth.................

Holidays flights should be bought early. I learned my lesson this year and bought ours in early September but we are traveling at the height of the season.(right before Christmas and returning a little after New year). We flying into SDQ.
When I was looking I found that traveling after Christmas was much cheaper, especially Christmas day and the day after.

The "Hamaca" is close to SD, my kids ONLY care about the "Pool", and the "Ice cream Machine"!
They have all been there a few times before, NOT ME", and enjoyed themselves.
I could care less about anything!
I just sit in a "Different Chair" all day, and smoke the same good cigars.
My wife "Loves It" there, but then she's one of the LOUD, Inconsiderate, Dominicans you already mentioned!
I'll try to make sure no one knows, "She's With The Rest of us!
