Yep, that's right. Although the jury is still out on MSG, I have been avoiding the stuff, specially now that my son eats table food (oh how do I miss the days of exclusive breastfeeding - it was so much easier!)
For coloring and for marinating (pollo guisado for instance), I do use Adobo (sparingly) which does not contain MSG and Lea & Perrins worcestershire sauce. Good ol' tomato paste and annatto always do the trick when I want a little bit more color.
By the way, there is one brand of sopita that I have found which does not contain MSG. It comes in a jar and it is in powder form, not cubes. The name right now I do not recall.
