Puerto Plata cruise ship passengers are picked up in the best of taxis and buses and tour only areas the government wants them to see. Same for passengers at the Maimon cruise ship port. The government spent a lot of money to cap the waste in the landfill near the Maimon cruise ship post. It was an obvious eyesore easily viewed by cruise ship passengers. Capping it only lasted a short time because tires and persistent plastics resurface. Eventually they had to spend more money to dig out the waste and relocate it. I passed by it many times on my way to Imbert and Luperon. It was interesting to watch.I'm debating that why DR govt don't do anything even the mayor or whatever. They think resorts and hotels and cruise is important? That is the problem
