Free zone exports for the first quarter of the year increased by 26 percent in relation with the same period last year. Their total exports were RDRD$6,994.4 million compared to RD$5,549.6 million last year. According to Mr. Francisco Amézquita Candelier, executive director of the Centro Dominicano de Promoción de Exportaciones, (CEDOPEX), total exports of traditional products for the period January- April, 1995, were RD$3,605 million, 39.5 percent more than for the same period last year.
