RD$1,100 million deficit for the CEA

The Federacion de Colonos Azucareros (FEDOCA), says that the State Sugar Council will incur a deficit of RD$1,100 million during the next grinding season. This will not allow the State sugar industry (CEA) to pay the RD$419 million they owe the organization’s members.

During the last two years, continues the report in the Listin Diario, the president of the Republic has given the CEA over RD$482 million, it also has an overdraft with the Banco de Reservas for RD$140 million and has collected RD$742 million in advance from future sugar sales. What did the different executive-directors of CEA do will all these monies ?
