The political parties have until 16 February to formally announce political alliances. So far, the party with the most is the PRD and its Acuerdo de Santo Domingo coalition. It brings together the following minority parties: Partido de la Unidad Democrática (UD,), Partido Nacional de Veteranos y Civiles (PNFC), Partido Quisqueyano Demócrata (PQD), Partido Democrático Institucional (PIDI). Bloque Institucional Social Democratia (BIS), el Partido de los Trabajadores Dominicanos (PTD), Concertación Democrática (CD), el Partido Comunista del Trabajo (PCT), Partido Popular Cristiano (PPC), el Movimiento Independiente Unidad y Cambio (MIUCA) and the Alianza Revolucionaria Democrática (ARD). The Partido Revolucionario Independiente (PRI) is also expected to join forces with the PRD.
The PLD has not announced any alliances so far, but La Estructura of Andres Vanderhorst has said that it will formally acknowledge Jacinto Peynado of the PRSC as its presidential candidate. Andres Vanderhorst gained a seat in Congress thanks to his alliance with the PRSC in the last election. Other minority parties that joined forces with the larger parties and gained Congressional seats were the UD, PTD, CD and the PPC.
