Partido Revolucionario Independiente directors José Rafael Molina Ureña, Abigail Soto and Hector Guzmán are campaigning with their recent rival, José Francisco Peña Gomez, of the Partido Revolucionario as the PRI has joined forces with the Acuerdo de Santo Domingo which supports the candidacy of Dr Peña Gomez. The key figures from the PRI were seen with José Francisco Peña Gómez, on the latter’s political tour to Samana and Maria Trinidad Sanchez provinces. The PRI last week formally named Jose Francisco Peña Gómez and Fernando Alvarez Bogaert as its presidential and vice presidential candidates.
The PRI and PRD/Acuerdo de Santo Domingo have agreed that the PRI will continue its campaign work with its own structure and symbols, while supporting the candidacies of Dr Peña Gómez and Alvarez Bogaert. Some 2,285 delegates participated in the PRI’s convention last week. It was held in the absence of party leader, Jacobo Majluta, who is recuperating in Miami from a serious infection that has prevented him from speaking.
