On a tour of the Eastern region last week, Jacinto Peynado confirmed that he would choose his running mate by the end of the month and that the person could be a resident of that region. This seems to suggest that he is not firm about choosing a vice presidential candidate from Santiago or the Cibao region as has been said in the press. He said he would not wait until the 16 March deadline, as the PRSC vice president will need time to campaign with him. He will need time to travel with him around the country so that people can recognize and identify the vice president with the PRSC ticket. Jacinto Peynado toured the East with Julio de Beras, the senator for El Seibo, and president of the region’s PRSC campaign unit.
