Peynado consults with Balaguer for choice of vice president

Meanwhile Jacinto Peynado seems to be delegating the responsibility of choosing the PRSC’s vice presidential candidate to President Balaguer. “I have asked President Balaguer to help me choose the vice presidential candidate because he is the president of the party and a person to whom I owe loyalty and respect,” Jacinto Peynado said last week. Mr Peynado has said that Dr Balaguer’s opinion will hold a lot of weight in his choice of running mate. He said he will not adopt a similar position to the PLD which is apparently insisting that the vice president must be a party man. The La Vega senator, Tony Rivera, is the most mentioned possible candidate.
