Trade mission from Curaçao to visit the D.R.

The Minister for Tourism and Economic Development of Curaçao, Celdrid A. Eisden, has announced that a trade mission will visit to negotiate an agreement whereby the Dominican Republic will be able to export significant quantities of bananas to the Dutch island. The mission, which is expected to arrive here in mid-June, will be made up of representatives from the government and the business community.

Mr. Eisden said that his country’s business leaders are interested in developing twins plants in Curaçao, and added that funds for financing such developments will be readily available. He said that Curaçao would also like to import Dominican tomatoes and animal food.

The Minister added that the mission will examine the implementation of mechanisms so that Dominican companies can place their products in the European market through Curaçao.
