Dr. César Estrella Sahdalá, president of the Junta Central Electoral, said that the Junta Central Electoral is prepared to give the results on the day after the election, as could have been done in past elections when the Junta had the results of 87% of the votes by midnight of 16 May.
He also said that the JCE has a communications network that will provide the country with additional information, and that the power problems have been taken into account as all municipal juntas have generators and the voting centers will not require electricity as they will close before 6 pm. Nevertheless, the supply of thousands of candles and electric torches is part of the electoral plan of the JCE. In Santo Domingo, the computer center of the JCE is supplied by three electrical systems capable of working continuously for 72 hours.
