Bad luck at the Junta Central Electoral

Hatuey De Camps, chief of the campaign of the PRD, had a bad day on Monday, 22 April. He was meeting the president of the JCE, Cesar Estrella Sahdalá, when the latter had to leave and delegate the matters under discussion to fellow judges Aura Celeste Fernandez and Juan Sully Bonelly. Then Mr De Camps was given the bad news that his luxury Toyota Land Cruiser had been damaged in an accident in front of the JCE building. A public transport minibus had crashed into his vehicle, causing severe damage to the body and the back window. Seven other vehicles were also damaged in the accident. According to press reports, the accident occurred outside the front door of the JCE, and was caused by a patana, a large truck, that imprudently had cut in front of the minibus, causing the multiple collisions. Mr De Camps interrupted his meeting when told of the accident, observed the damage and then, apparently resigned to the situation, told his chauffeur, “Take the papers of the car, and go and resolve the matter; I am involved in other things.” A pick-up owned by the PRD was also amongst the damaged cars.
