The principal executives of Petrolera Once Once, Jaak and John Rannik, say that after carrying out new seismographic studies they have decided to relocate their third exploratory drilling for natural gas. They will be drilling the third 2,000 feet hole in La Guiza, San Francisco de Macorís, after analyzing data from their first drilling which was in the same area. They have concluded that the gas found in small quantities as a result of the first hole had come from a source they are now trying to find. At present, the company is reinforcing the bridge over the Rio Guiza so they can transport the heavy equipment they need for the rig. The exploratory drillings are reportedly being undertaken at a cost of US$4.6 million.
