Korea donates funds for construction of schools

The Office of Community Development (ODC) and the government of the Republic of Korea have come to an agreement by which the Korean government will pay RD$10 million of the RD$11 million to be invested for the construction of ten fully equipped schools, each with four classrooms. The schools will be built in Santiago, San Francisco de Macorís, Higüey, Elías Piña, Villa Altagracia, Bonao, San Pedro de Macorís, Barahona and Santo Domingo.

The agreement between the ODC and the Korean Group of Preliminary Studies was signed by Kim Jong Soo and Rafael de la Rosa, in the presence of the Korean Ambassador to the D.R., Keel Li Chow, who told the news media that relations between the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Korea are “excellent and very cordial.”
