Speaking in Santo Domingo, the executive director of Caribbean Latin American Action, Antonio J. Colorado, said that the small countries have to unite as the time for falling back on assistance from the larger countries is over. He says that the effects of groupings like Mercosur, Pacto Andino, and Nafta are leaving the small countries to cope for themselves. He emphasized the importance of business in the integration movement, especially the role capital plays in globalization.
