The Ministry of Finance has reported that the total income tax receipts are up by 14.4% in the first five months of the year when compared to the same period in 1995. The Ministry reported that fiscal revenues contributed RD$9,169.4 million to the total in 1995, but are up to RD$10,489.2 million this year. Of the overall total, import taxes contributed RD$3,888.1 million in the first five months, compared to RD$3,1806.6 in 1995. Taxes on foreign trade were up 4.2%, from RD$3,492.2 million in 1995 to RD$3,638.1 million in 1996. The differential on the fuel price contributed RD$1,539.1 million, or 29.1% more than in 1995.
