INESPRE employees claim they are two months behind with salaries

Employees of the government agency, known as the Instituto de Estabilizacion de Precios (INESPRE), claim that they have not been paid for two months. People from the agency, including supervisors, visited the Listin Diario newspaper to call attention to their plight. They asked President Balaguer to intervene on their behalf. INESPRE has experienced serious financial problems for the last two years, first under Abigail Soto and later under retired General Leoncio Garcia y Garcia. On the verge of collapse in 1995, it is again in dire financial straits.
