New traffic lights in Santo Domingo

The mayor of Santo Domingo, Rafael Subervi Bonilla, has announced the erection of six new sets of traffic lights in the capital, designed to reduce traffic jams and the risk of accidents. The new lights are at the corners of Avenida San Martin and Dr. Delgado, San Martin and Leopoldo Navarro, San Martin and Tiradentes, San Martin and Lope de Vega, Charles De Gaulle and Carretera Mella, and Venezuela and Puerto Rico. The four on Avenida San Martin are necessary because of the increased traffic flow. and the high volume of vehicles, which have created difficulties at the intersections with other busier streets such as Lope de Vega and Tiradentes.
