Dr. Bautista (Bauta) Rojas will replace Vice President-elect Jaime David Fernández Mirabal as the lone senator of the Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD), according to various high-ranking members of the PLD. Mr. Fernández Mirabal has come out in favor of Dr. Rojas, who was mayor of their native city of Salcedo from 1990 to 1994.
