Central Romana produces 380,000 tons of raw sugar

This week, the Central Romana Corporation announced that the sugar cane crop for 1995-1996 ended with an unprecedented production of 380,000 short tons. It ground 3,353,000 short tons of cane, which permitted it to satisfy the demands of both the domestic and foreign markets. Central Romana added that 120,000 tons were refined and 21 million gallons of molasses were produced.
