New additions to the Zoo

The National Zoological Garden celebrated its 21st anniversary on 5 July by announcing 120 births during the period from February to May 1996. New additions to its population include two white swans, 12 parakeets, 75 ducks, seven black bellied sheep and three goats. The current administration, headed by Anibal Meyreles Torres, has been in charge of the zoo’s daily operations for two years.
