The president of the Asociación Dominicana de Exportadores, Alberto Bonetti, emphasized the need for the next government to establish a zero rate of duty for machinery and equipment imported for agricultural purposes. He said that this is the only way the country’s agriculture can continue to be competitive. He added that under the prevailing conditions it is impossible to export.
