Exports to France have increased during the last two years to US$40 million, while imports reached US$70 million, making a deficit of US$30 million for the Dominican Republic. The French ambassador, Henri Vidal, says that the D. R. should take advantage of the facilities available under the Lomé IV Convention to increase its trade with France.
