The Consejo Nacional de Zona Franca de Exportación (CNZE) has approved the establishing of five more free zone companies in different industrial parks around the country involving an investment of RD$82.6 million. According to a report of the CNZE, the five companies will generate 532 jobs and more that US$4.3 million in foreign currency annually. The companies are: Caribbean Cigar Company Limited, Consolidated Contractors, SJR, American Garment Trading, and Overseas World Marketing.
