An activist of the Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD), Felix Jiménez, assured the business sector can have trust in the new government to be headed by Dr Leonel Fernández, and that it will manage the national economy prudently, so as not to affect the productive sector in an adverse manner. Mr. Jiménez said that the PLD will guarantee the macroeconomic stability of the country, and will try to introduce new ways to strengthen the agricultural and industrial sectors, as well as increase the business obtained by the tourist industry and the free zones, both of which represent fundamental guarantees for the development of the economy.
